 Hangouts

Maximum limit: 25 People

Hangouts are Google’s answer to Skype. A free chat messenger applications that support group Video Call on multiple devices and platforms, including Android. WhatsApp works on those numbers saved on your phone, and Hangouts is also connected to your Gmail ID. You can connect and start a video chat with up to 10 Friends and Buddies at once.

Being a Google product, it plays pleasantly with other Google services like Drive, Calendar, Maps, and Gmail. You can join Hangouts with your previous Android or Gmail account. There is support for sharing screens, docs, and emoticons. And also, similar to every other Google product, it’s free and fully ad-supported. It comes handy for experts and teachers.

Furthermore, you can record your Hangout’s Group Video Call and publish them directly on your YouTube channel if you have. Same as Skype, if the participants in the group call don’t have iOS or Android with them, they can also chat from the Hangout App.

FaceBook Messenger

Maximum limits: 50 People

Facebook messenger has one of the considerable Video Call limits. It can go up to 50 peoples, which is a crazy number, in my opinion. How do you see so many peoples on your screen? On the other hand, unlike a few different group Video Call applications, you have to create a group and add people to it before you start the group video chat. That said, not All has to be online while you start the group chat. The added people can join the Video Call later on either from Facebook messenger or Facebook app.

Facebook Messenger Lite doesn’t support Group Video Call. Still, most people are already using Facebook, so you don’t have to ask and send requests to peoples. The one thing going in its favor is that it’s entirely free and combine with Facebook. FB Messenger also offers probably the most extensive collection of in-application live stickers and games.

WhatsApp, like Facebook, enjoys a large user base, which puts Messenger in a favorite position. Sadly, Fb Messenger fails to attract the kind of attention and love it should have received. The Application is known to be buggy and slow. It has the power to slow your cell phone to the point where peoples often recommended to uninstall to improve your battery life. Plus, Facebook is known to collect user’s data for all the false reasons.

Skype

Maximum limits: 25 People

Skype is probably the oldest Application in the world to support Group Video Call. Even before there were iOS and Android, Skype was available only on Windows. What makes Skype famous is that it is possible not only on mobile platforms but also on computers, Macs, browsers, and PlayStations. This makes it so easier to connect with the people who are using their laptops, etc. A bigger screen means you can view larger.

You can join a group Video Call with up to 10 Friends Or Buddies, but Skype says the number of the range. In my experience, it’s suitable for 3-5 peoples. As per their (Fair Usage Policy) FUP, you can video call for a maximum of 100 hours a month with a 10-hour daily limit. You can share your screen with others also.

Houseparty

Maximum limit: 12 People

Houseparty is the currently #1 trending application with millions of downloads in few weeks, and it is pretty legit. The Application mimics the house party environment with different chatrooms. You can have up to a maxi of 8 people in a single chatroom, but you can free to join any friend’s chatroom (unless it’s not set to Private).

Houseparty is a great way to pass the time and recently has seen a rush in users. This influences the volume on its servers, and you could feel connection drops sometimes in the Video Call. The Application also has not been updated in almost a year.

Google Duo

Maximum Limit: 8 people

The Duo is Google’s replacement for Hangouts, and it is the most seamless integrated Video Call App. The Duo comes installed on your Android device, by default and you can Video Call anyone directly through the cell phone. However, to make a Group Video Call, you will have to create a group first and then do Group Video Call. Duo has a limit of up to 8 peoples. But, the best thing about this if you have an Android device, Google ensures you on Duo.

WhatsApp

Maximum limits: 4 People

One of the New updates was Group Video Call on iOS and Android. The problem is that the WhatsApp group Video Call supports only four people. To start a WhatsApp call, start a video with one of the contacts you have saved. Once the request is set, you can see a button at the top-right corner of the screen that will let you add another User to the call.

Almost all you know is on WhatsApp, which makes it a perfect choice for making Group Video Call. It’s also one of the most call apps accessible video to use. Other than the four people limits, another limitation is WhatsApp video call, is that it doesn’t support group Video Call (or even regular video for that matter) on WhatsApp App.

Instagram

Maximum limits: 4 people

Same as WhatsApp and FB Messenger, Instagram is another Facebook product that also supports video calling. The Group Video Call option is not pretty visible because, hey, it’s Instagram! Anyhow, if most of your friends are on Instagram, you can quickly initiate a Group Video Call through the DM section. You can only start the Video Call with your followers even though there is an exciting option to preview your liked and saved posts during the group Video Call. It seems like it is intentional to start a good gossip session over coffee. Besides, the Video Call options are pretty limited, with a couple of options to change face cameras and filters.

 IMO

Maximum limits: Not Available

IMO is more famous in third-world countries where people mostly use it for Texting and Video Call. The reason is being that IMO also supports 2G and 3G networks with low-quality video calling OR Chat. This comes in handy for people with inadequate Internet plans or maybe lower-end smartphones to make a Video Call.

When it comes to cross-platform similarity, there is not much to write home about this. IMO doesn’t have many features, which means the Application is bloat-free and works fast. Aside from this, nothing much on offers. The Application is free but ad-supported too. It is familiar to use less data when compared to other group video calling applications. IMO recommends keeping the users around 3-6 during the Group Video Call.

Line

Maximum limit: 4 People

The Line is another popular Video Call application available on Android devices. Besides all the usual features that are available on the other apps, Line also permits you to create polls for feedback. This can be useful for weekly or monthly Group Video Call meetings.

Like JusTalk, Line also permits you to use effects, and filters live during Video Call making the App more fun to use. The Line also allows you to follow accounts of Famous people. Anyways, you cannot connect Video Call with them. Similar to JusTalk, there are stickers and emoticons available as in-application purchases. The Application is free to use but ad-supported.

JusTalk

Maximum limits: Not Available

JusTalk is relatively not much famous as some of the behemoths mentioned in this list, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth taking notice of. The Application is an excellent alternative for making Group Video Call on Android devices. Like JusTalk, Skype allows you to record your Video Call directly from within the Application. This is useful if you are using it for essential lectures or discussions.

Aside from that, I like the doodle feature which lets you create doodles on your face, or anything else on the screen, while you are live video chatting. It also comes with a lot of themes and other personalization options like GIFs and stickers that are available as in-app purchases. The Application is free to use but ad-supported. JusTalk is available on iOS and Android, but not on other platforms or browsers are supported.

Final Words :

If you are looking for an application that is available on almost every platform, you are looking only for Skype. Not the best but the previous and most supported. If you are looking to record your Video Call with ease way, JusTalk has a better solution because they offer this feature right inside the Application. No 3rd party integration needed. In case you need an application that works with 2G/3G data, or you have a slow Internet connection, IMO is a better solution but with only a few features.

If you are working in an official condition and want to share screens, Hangouts is the best App. For a more informal setup, WhatsApp Group Video Call and Google Duo are the easiest of the lot to use based due to the design and adaptability rate. You can also check this App for your Better looks.
